Kill It With Fire

By Eric Clark

One member each from three different bands have combined to create another band, Kill It With Fire. They are a pop-punk-ish band formed by members of other bands. The guitarist of From First To Last, Matt Good, the guitarist/vocalist of The Word Alive, Zack Hansen, and a guitarist of Asking Alexandria, Ben Bruce, have announced that they have collectively begun to form the band known as Kill It With Fire. Good commented that the band will not be “TOO pop-punk”, and based on the genre that their main bands play, we can assume that means they will still be leaned towards the metal community, but possibly a mix of all three styles the original bands play. The heavy screams of From First To Last and Asking Alexandria, the heavy riffs of Asking Alexandria, and the clean vocals and higher pitched riffs of The Word Alive.

A Day to Remember Finally Wins Lawsuit Against Victory Records

By Eric Clark

Back in 2011, the band A Day to Remember had gotten big enough to sign to a major record label. Their original contract with Victory Records was to write and release 5 albums before attempting to switch record labels. The band later fulfilled their contract, but the record label withheld a total of 4 million dollars of their profits from the album they released not long before. Because they discovered this, other bands on the record label looked into their own profits and found millions more missing. Luckily, despite the issue with the label, the judge said that they could self-release the album they were in the process of making. Due to the stolen money, the band filed a lawsuit against them and, as of November 23rd, 2016, they have finally won. The band is to receive their money and the record label will now be under close financial watch. There is still no guarantee the other bands on the label will have the same luck though.

"Look At Yourself"

By Eric Clark

Back in 2016, the heavy metal band Emmure announced that every member of the band was leaving other than the vocalist. The vocalist, Frankie Palmeri, formed the band and picked the name so they felt it would be wrong to kick him out, but because of his unique screaming style, his vocal chords were always messed up. But since the rest of them left, Palmeri has made a full recovery and reformed the band, releasing a new single, “Torch”, on October 13th. They seemed to disappear for a bit but then came out with another new single, “Russian Hotel Aftermath”, off of their upcoming 2017 album, “Look At Yourself.” The band has kept roughly the same sound and Palmeri continues his unique scream, so let’s just hope he can either take the time to rest his vocal chords or he can SAFELY continue with his style.

Capture: "Lost Control"

By Eric Clark

The metalcore band once known as Capture The Crown, known for having a style similar to that of Asking Alexandria, recently went on all of their social media accounts and cleared them out, posting one picture with no context. The picture had words and nothing in the background and said “R.I.P. C.T.C.” The fans were devastated to see this, thinking that the band broke up.
